Our family is located in mid-Michigan. We had a sudden medical emergency with our 7 year old dog, Lily. On the morning of Sunday, December 7, 2025, we awoke to Lily vomiting excessively, her gums and the whites of her eyes were really red, and her abdomen was bloated. By noon, Lily was no better, and we ended up taking her to an emergency vet hospital. After a 6-hour visit that included a lot of testing, they really didn’t have an answer but sent her home with anti-nausea medication. We made an emergency appointment with her regular vet the next day; more blood tests & an ultrasound was done but still no definitive answer. However, they referred us to another emergency vet hospital that was a 75-minute drive away, which was worth the drive if they could help her. This vet also repeated blood tests, did a chest X-ray, abdominal X-ray and an abdominal ultrasound. Over the course of a couple of hours, it was determined a lot of tests were abnormal and life-threatening. They said they thought she had a ruptured or torn gallbladder and surgery needed to be done right away to save her life!

So Lily was admitted to the hospital immediately, pain medication started, and she was prepped for emergency exploratory surgery the next morning.

Fast forward to today (12/10/25), Lily had surgery today and will be in the hospital for another 3-4 days. She is listed in very critical condition. The next 24-48 hours are very critical!

We are doing everything we can to save our girl…but the bills are adding up very very quickly. We have never asked for help…but between the 3 emergency vet visits, multiple tests, hospital stay, major surgery, pathology, medications, and upcoming follow-up visits & testing, we feel we need some help! We are only asking for help to pay her medical bills…nothing more. Any help we can get will be truly appreciated…every dollar helps.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts…and please share!

Love,
Dee, Mark & Ryan
