My Lilly crying out in pain ;(

LILLY UPDATE:

Hi dear friends and supporters, Lilly had emergency surgery on Thursday May 23rd. Prior to surgery she had lost the use of her legs and we were given three options...Surgery, let her suffer, or put her down. We obviously chose surgery because we couldn't live with the other options. We just couldn't. Lilly will spend the next three days at the hospital recuperating and intravenously given strong painkillers. She is expected to make a full recovery.

The surgery and all associated costs and emergency room visits ended up costing $15,700. Veterinary Medicine is big business and we are absolutely shocked and unprepared for this expense. I am attaching photos of all receipts relating to Lilly's surgery and medical treatment.

As you may know I am now a full time caretaker for my elderly parents who have chronic and serious health conditions. I have no income whatsoever and the amount of the surgery is equal to the amount that would have kept us afloat for a year.

I am appealing to you once again to help out. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated..$10, $20, $50... It all adds up and would provide us with much needed relief.

Hi good people, friends, and acquaintances.

I really need your help. If you could see me I'd be on the floor begging you. My little two-year-old doggy baby, Lilly, needs surgery and I don't have the funds to cover it. As you may know I am a full-time caretaker of my medically fragile mom and dad and don't have an income at the moment so I'm reaching out to the entire universe and hoping for the kindness of friends and strangers alike.

This past Thursday out of nowhere, Lilly started screaming and yelping in pain. Her cries were heartbreaking and soul-destroying. We immediately took her to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Eagle Rock who ultimately referred us to VCA Animal Specialty & Emergency Center in Santa Monica. By this time Lilly was intermittently losing the function of her legs and collapsing to the ground while still crying out in pain. Diagnostic imaging and tests ultimately revealed that Lilly has a collapsed cervical vertebrae and ruptured disc pressing on her spine and causing partial paralysis and pain. The vet recommended surgery. Lilly's prognosis is excellent because she is so young and otherwise healthy. If she doesn't have this surgery she in all likelihood will be paralysed and or worse. The estimated cost of this microsurgery is anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000.

As anybody with pets knows, these little creatures take residence not only in our homes but in our hearts as well. Lilly is my soul sister, my constant companion through thick and thin, my emotional support system. I am devastated and heart-broken. I'm begging you to please make a donation and help me save Lilly's life. I'd be eternally grateful. Blessed be all of you!

LILLY UPDATE:

We want to express our sincerest gratitute to folks who have donated to cover the cost of Lilly's life-saving surgery. It's been almost two weeks since Lilly went under the knife and we are happy to report that she is on her way to a full recovery and she is being coddled and loved back to health.

We have been able to raise almost $2,000 thanks to the kind-hearted supporters, but we are still facing a staggering $13,000 bill with little means to cover it. We have applied for a "Waggle Campaign" that will be online soon where we could potentially receive up to $2,000 for a successful campaign and we have applied for a VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital grant of up to $1,200.

Our family will owe you a debt of gratitude if you can continue sharing Lilly's GoFundMe with friends and family so that we can continue to chip away at this unexpected and distressing turn of events.
