Hi, I'm Iga - and this is my beloved cat, Leo.

Leo has recently been diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor after suffering multiple seizures. Without surgery, the tumor will continue to grow, eventually causing his brain to herniate. This would lead to a painful and premature departure from this world - within just a few months...

But there’s hope. And I’m not giving up on him.

About Leo

Call me biased, but Leo is the best pet I could ever dream of. He’s full of love and character. He always finds time for cuddles, drags his toys up the stairs as little offerings, and proudly throws himself into battle with the scratch post.

Leo loves darting through his cat tunnels, chasing shadows, and sunbathing in his favourite spots like a little sunbeam. Despite being 13, he still enjoys his adventures outside and honestly, age is not a disease. His energy, curiosity, and affection remind me every day that he’s not ready to go anywhere yet.

His Diagnosis & Surgery

Thanks to the amazing team at Dick White Referrals, Leo was assessed and diagnosed through an MRI scan. He now has a surgery date scheduled for this Thursday. It's a complex but potentially life-saving procedure to remove the growth from his brain.

The surgery has a success rate of 80% in cats, and Leo’s recent bloods and scans - the vets are confident that he’s a good candidate for this. If successful, it could give him more happy, pain-free years doing what he loves most and blessing me with his morning kisses.

The Financial Reality

The total cost of Leo’s treatment (including the MRI, surgery, hospitalisation, medications, and aftercare) is over £10,000. My insurance covers up to £5,000, but I also have to pay 20% of all costs, which leaves me with around £7,000 to pay out of pocket.

I’m prepared to cover as much as I can, but it’s a significant financial stretch, especially after other recent life expenses. That’s why, despite of how uncomfortable it is - I'm reaching out for support. Having volounteered and done fundraisers for charity in the best, I hope I can cash in some of my good karma for little Leo.
