Leia and her brother Luke have been the heart of our family for the past four years. As our first Golden Retrievers, they've shown us a kind of love and loyalty we never knew before. Anyone who has ever had a Golden knows just how deeply they become a part of your life. Leia, in particular, has always been full of energy and affection, making every day brighter for us.
Recently, we noticed Leia's appetite fading, and after several vet visits, we learned she has a condition called IMHA, which causes her body to attack her own red blood cells. This has led to severe anemia, and her health has declined rapidly. We've already spent so much—funds we truly don't have—on her first transfusion, hoping it would buy us time for the vets to find the cause. Sadly, the transfusion only helped for about 48 hours, and now Leia desperately needs another one, along with more testing, to give her a fighting chance.
Without another transfusion, Leia may not make it through the next 24 hours. We are heartbroken and desperate to save her. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and could give Leia the time she needs. Thank you for caring about our sweet girl and for helping us fight for her life.
