I am seeking funding for my healthcare that is not covered by insurance.
In the fall of 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy that December followed by radiation. I was declared cancer free for five years but in the fall of 2019, it came back with a vengeance. Chemotherapy medication has again knocked my cancer back down but it is not completely gone and my oncologist says it won’t stay gone forever. Conventional medicine does not have a long-term answer to save my life. However, there are integrative medicine alternatives that offer hope but they are not covered by insurance. My cancer and Covid happened at the same time, both keeping me from continuing my job as a paraprofessional at my daughter’s school. Because I have no job, I am not able to qualify for a loan to pay my medical expenses. Therefore, I have to ask for help because time is not on my side.
I am requesting $25,000 for 9 months of estimated healthcare expenses to include monthly doctor evaluations, treatments, medications, supplements, bloodwork and tests, as well as some in-home medical equipment. Any amount not used immediately or received beyond these estimates will be applied to ongoing treatments after these 9 months, hopefully just for health maintenance and check-ups!
At the time of my first diagnosis my children were 7 and 5. They are now 14 and 12. During my latest sickness, my son came to me for help. When he described the problem, I asked what he wanted me to do. He said, “I don’t know what it is you do or how you do it, but you always make me feel better.” My daughter also told me that I am the only one who gets her and she thanked me for surviving cancer. These instances made me realize that I am replaceable in most areas of life, but not with my children. No one knows them like I do and no one else can do for them what I do. I cannot leave them without their mom. If there is a 1% chance that any of these treatments can eliminate my cancer for good, I have to try. Please help me be able to do that.
