Hi, my name is Vanessa and I’m fundraising for my sweet Yorki Poo, Kujo.

I’ve had Kujo since 2018, and he’s been my best friend through everything. Recently, our family moved into a new home, and we welcomed two dogs from friends who needed to rehome them. Sadly, on Sunday, September 7th, while we were away having dinner with family, one of the new dogs attacked Kujo.

When we came home, we found bite marks on his neck. After rushing him to the vet, we learned the injuries were far worse than we realized. In addition to multiple puncture wounds, bloodwork showed that Kujo is anemic, has high blood pressure, and a low red blood cell count. The vet referred us to an emergency clinic for advanced imaging and treatment, but due to the overwhelming costs, we started with an X-ray at our current clinic.

That X-ray revealed heartbreaking news: Kujo has a serious bone fracture near his spine. The vet explained that if one of the bone fragments shifts and touches his spinal cord, it could paralyze him or cause his nervous system to fail. They told us this type of fracture is not compatible with life if left untreated.

We have since rehomed the other dog back to their loving family to ensure Kujo’s safety, but now we need urgent help to give Kujo a fighting chance. The next steps involve further imaging and specialized surgery to stabilize him and prevent further damage.

Kujo is not just a pet—he is family. He has been by my side for seven years, and with two young kids at home, they love him deeply too. We want to do everything possible to give him the care he needs and the best chance at recovery.

The medical bills are already adding up quickly, and the estimates for ongoing treatment and emergency care are overwhelming. That’s why I’m reaching out for support. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Kujo’s veterinary bills and care.
