My name is Kseniia, my family is from Kherson. My dad urgently needs heart surgery costing $12,000. We lost our home due to war shelling and flooding caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam. So, we cannot raise this amount on our own. Please, help saving my father’s life!

During the war, our family was put on unbearable trials. Our home was repeatedly hit by shelling. One of the strikes came from a Grad rocket system while we were inside. By a miracle, we survived. We tried to rebuild everything with our own hands – fixing the roof, boarding up the windows. But after the Kakhovka dam was destroyed, our house was completely flooded and we have lost everything we had.

My grandmother (my father’s mother) was very seriously ill and bedridden. Her house was also flooded. A year ago, she passed away, and it was a devastating loss for our family. Just a month later, my father was diagnosed with severe Aortic Valve Stenosis (Stage 3). He is 63 years old and urgently needs a heart valve replacement. Doctors warn that without this surgery his condition may quickly worsen. The risk to his life grows higher every single day.

Before the war started, my father, Anatolii Tkalych, ran a humble business – he sold a traditional Ukrainian drink called “kvass” in Kherson. In summer, many locals came for a cold cup of this drink, they knew him personally and kept coming back again and again. That little business was his life’s work. He always worked hard to provide honestly for our family and to help others.

Despite everything my dad remains strong and caring for us.

But now his life depends on this surgery, and time is critically important for our family.

I cannot allow myself to lose my dad too. For me, this fundraiser is an attempt to save two hearts, because I cannot imagine my life without him.

The cost of the surgery is approximately $12,000. This amount will cover examinations, the operation, the prosthetic valve, hospital stay, medications, recovery and payment system fees.
