On 9/25 Koda’s little human accidentally let him outside and, in true husky fashion, both he and his sister Juniper took off like lightning to do a round about the neighborhood. Koda didn’t make it back, and when Juniper came home without him, our worst fears were confirmed when we found he was hit by a car and broke his femur.
The fracture cannot be repaired, and was so sharp that every time he moved, he was causing tissue damage so a decision needed to be made quickly.
We were nearly forced to euthanize him due to the financial burden of the surgery he needs, and the vet doesn’t offer payment plans. BrookeAnn Maroney offered to help save our boy. I cannot thank you enough Brooke for saving the life of our first baby, the big brother to all four of our children who have never known life without him. I left my house under the impression I would return that night to bury him.
I was able to put a down payment on the surgery cost, but need help paying Brooke back for her generosity during what was an urgent situation, as she too has a big family like myself, plus a wedding to plan.
Any amount you can manage would be greatly appreciated in chipping away at this unexpected, devastating event. Thank you
