Hi, my name is Nicola and I’m fundraising for my beautiful cat Klaus, who has sadly relapsed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and urgently needs life-saving antiviral medication.

A Rough Start… and a Second Chance

In July 2022, I found Klaus and his sister Trixie abandoned near some bins. They were just 8 weeks old. They were starving, riddled with fleas and worms, and with painful mats of faeces stuck to their back legs. I took them home, bathed them, treated them, and like magic, they smiled. I fell in love instantly.

They became part of our little fur family ❤️now 2 of 6 cats I adore and care for. Klaus grew into the most affectionate, quirky, and gentle boy. He loves sunbathing, watching butterflies, and sleeping in the silliest positions.

His First Fight with FIP

In November 2024, Klaus suddenly lost weight, became unsteady, and began drooling. He was diagnosed with wet FIP, a rare and usually fatal disease. His treatment cost £1,500, which I am paying for after insurance refused to cover it. I didn’t hesitate.I just wanted to save him.

And he made an amazing recovery. For the first time in months, he played again. He chased toys, cuddled with his siblings, and acted like his old self.

Devastating Relapse

Just two days ago, Klaus started acting clingy and disoriented. He began drooling again. Today the vet confirmed our worst fear: FIP has returned.

This is rare, but it’s likely that the original dose or duration of treatment wasn’t enough to eliminate the virus completely, and it has been dormant in his brain or spine. He’s now on steroids to improve his appetite and comfort, but he desperately needs a longer, higher-dose course of antiviral treatment, immediately.

I Need Help to Save Him

I’m already paying off his previous treatment, and this new round is even more expensive. Without the antiviral meds, I’ll be forced to make the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep a choice I’m not ready to make when I know he can still recover.

Klaus is only 3 years old. He’s a miracle boy who overcame the odds once, and I believe with all my heart he can do it again, with your help.
