Two Aspirin Ain't Enough, Doc: KJ's Story

Donation protected

KJ came to RVA Street Bunny Society late last night after a concerned neighbor noticed an all-white bunny with a giant lump on its back loose in front of her home. While we're used to finding bunnies with fleas, ticks, and botflies (yuck!), KJ's condition is by far the worst of any bunny we've rescued so far.

RVA Street Bunny Society makes sure that every bunny we save gets routine medical care. We spay/neuter, we vaccinate, and we microchip. We provide food and supplies for bunnies in need. We roadtrip all over Central VA to save lives... and we do almost all of it with money from our own pockets.

KJ is going to need so much more than 'the routine' treatment. To start, we're getting bloodwork to make sure his organs are healthy and to rule out the risk of cancer. He'll need extensive treatment and cytologies for his ears, which are so infected from chronic ear mites that it makes my skin crawl. He's severely malnourished and dirty. He was never neutered. And to top it all off...

KJ has a lump on his back the size of a tennis ball. It will be a major surgery to remove it, but if it's allowed to continue growing, it would severely compromise his quality of life. After everything he's been through, we refuse to fail him. We will do everything this sweet, scrappy, special boy needs to give him the life he deserves. Please help us help him.
