Help Save Kiyoshi!

Hi everyone,
My name is Emi, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my sweet boy, Kiyoshi. He just turned 3 years old on April 1st — we even had a little birthday celebration. But last night, we rushed to the emergency vet due to a urinary blockage.
Kiyoshi isn’t just a pet. I’ve had him since he was a tiny kitten, found with three of his littermates in a garage in Toledo. From the start, he’s been by my side through so many of life’s ups and downs. He’s my emotional support, my comfort, and my baby.
My dad had major surgery on January 30th. He then tested positive for the flu on January 31st. Because of all the medications and antibiotics this required, he then also got c-diff. These complications severely slowed his recovery, and what was supposed to be a 5 to 7 day hospitalization turned into a 48-day hospitalization. He was discharged on March 19th but had to be admitted twice more. He has returned home again as of April 14th, and I care for him full-time. Unfortunately, Medicaid no longer considers him eligible for their services as of April 1st, so I do not get paid to be his caregiver.
The cost of Kiyoshi’s treatment at the emergency vet was about $650. He’s now at his general practice, and they’ve given me an estimate of about $2,000 for treatment, which includes catheterization, fluids, and hospitalization. Unfortunately, I can’t cover that cost on my own — and without treatment, this condition can quickly become fatal.
If you’re able to donate anything, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me and will save Kiyoshi’s life. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this — every bit helps.
Thank you so much for reading and for caring.
With gratitude,
Emi & Kiyoshi
