Help Save Kate from a literal Nightmare
Donation protected
My dear friend Kate has not been able to spend a single night in the house that she purchased back in May of 2020. She was terribly misled and what should have been move-in-ready, turned out to be anything but that!
With so much structural/internal damage, no sound plumbing, and no heat, it’s not safe for her to stay there yet. At first things seemed okay, but she soon discovered extreme water damage, wood rot, mold, and many other significant setbacks. Kate has finally been able to start addressing some of the numerous issues with the help of a local contractor, but the projects keep growing and I’m worried for her, as the costs keep climbing.
Kate is an art therapist who works with adults with disabilities, including elders with dementia. She has a big heart, helps anyone in need, and will literally stop everything to rescue an animal in distress. For example, she saved two dogs a few years ago from the middle of the busy Merritt Parkway.
Kate is strong, but even her limits are being tested by these overwhelming circumstances!
Times are really hard all around, yet if you have anything to spare, please contribute whatever you can, support/share this fundraiser to help Kate finally get home.
I’ve known Kate for over 16 years; she is an incredibly giving and thoughtful person, in serious need of support right now. Kate’s a great friend: fierce, fun and resourceful. In addition to the chaos of the global pandemic, she sadly put her trust in the wrong person last year, who broke countless promises, leaving her adrift with shattered dreams and no place to live.
Even though Kate has been put through the wringer recently, she is still doing the best she can for everyone around her and trying to reclaim her spark.
Please help me give her some hope!
