What started as a necessary TPLO surgery to repair his knee has turned into a nightmare we never could have imagined. After his first surgery, we hoped the worst was behind us. Unfortunately, his knee fell out of alignment again. A second surgery followed, and devastatingly, the same problem has happened again. Insurance is refusing to cover any of it.

Big Al was a phenomenal K9 prospect and was ready to go to a police department. Because of the TPLO surgery, he can no longer be a police K9 but you can help us give him the chance to walk, run, and live the happy life he deserves as a pet.

Big Al is more than just a dog to us, and watching him go through this has been heartbreaking.

After already spending over $20,000 on 2 surgeries and vet expenses, now, Big Al is facing his third surgery, and we are at a crossroads that no dog owner ever wants to face: find a way to repair his leg or risk having it amputated.

We have already spent $20,000 on his first two surgeries. We have done everything we could to get him the medical care he needed, believing each procedure would bring him one step closer to recovery. Unfortunately, our insurance is not covering these costs, leaving us facing an overwhelming financial burden just as Big Al needs us most.

We aren’t going to give up on him.

Our goal is to give Big Al every reasonable chance to recover and keep his leg rather than proceed directly to amputation because of the financial strain. We are now facing another major medical expense, and we simply cannot shoulder this burden alone.

We know there are people who understand what it means to love a dog and give them what they deserve: the best life possible. You know they aren’t just pets; every dog we work with has a special place in our hearts.
