Hello everyone, I’m reaching out because my dog, Junie, is facing a medical emergency that I can’t handle on my own.
Her surgery is currently scheduled for March 27, 2026, and time is incredibly limited. While the vet said it might be possible to delay for a short time if her symptoms don’t worsen, this condition can escalate quickly. Ideally, she must undergo surgery as soon as possible before it becomes too risky to operate.
I recently rushed Junie to an emergency veterinary clinic after having a scare where she was exhibiting unusual symptoms on March 16, 2026. Unfortunately the worse thing I feared it could be ended up coming true and she was diagnosed with Pyometra, a serious and fatal infection of the uterus that affects unspayed female dogs. I was told she had been up-to-date on medical needs and was already spayed when I adopted her, but I soon came to realize that was untrue as she came with all sorts of other medical complications.
Pyometra can worsen rapidly and become life-threatening if not treated immediately. The only effective treatment is emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus, along with antibiotics and hospitalization.
Thankfully, the Pyometra is still in the early stages and Junie hasn’t developed severe symptoms, yet. She has been on antibiotics for the past week to help slow the infection. But this is only temporary — surgery is the only way to save her life.
The estimated cost for the procedure is between $1,000–$1,300, the final costs will depend on how the surgery and recovery go. Unfortunately, I’m currently in a difficult financial position after covering previous emergency medical and vet expenses, and I’m unable to afford this procedure upfront.
I’ve exhausted my options, and this is my last hope.
I adopted Junie on June 1st of last year, and she came from a difficult past involving abuse and neglect. She needed significant medical care as she had rotten/decayed teeth, and I immediately got her in for a teeth extraction and made sure she got up-to-date on whatever medical care she needed. She is truly the sweetest little angel and such a big light in my life, she means everything to me. I just want to give her the happy, healthy life she deserves.
If you’re able to help in any way — whether through a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or even just keeping her in your thoughts, it would mean more than I can express.
All funds will go directly toward:
Emergency lab work (bloodwork, diagnostics)
Life-saving surgery
Hospitalization and medications
Pain management and recovery care
If donations exceed the medical costs, any extra will go toward Junie’s continued care and follow-up treatment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give. ❤️
