Julio and Cookie, my two beloved guinea pigs, have always brought so much joy and comfort into my life. After the sudden loss of my other guinea pig, Sylvia, both Julio and Cookie began to struggle with their health. They developed dental spurs, which are sharp points on their teeth that make it impossible for them to eat the foods they need to stay healthy. Timothy hay, which is essential for keeping their teeth filed down, is now something they refuse because of the pain. Dental spurs are extremely dangerous for guinea pigs—if left untreated, they can’t eat, leading to G.I. stasis, which is often fatal.

I’ve done everything I can to keep them comfortable, including multiple vet visits, pain management, and critical care feedings. Julio’s rapid decline required urgent veterinary attention, and now Cookie is showing the same symptoms. I’m terrified of losing them both. The only way to save their lives is through urgent dental surgery, but the combined cost for both surgeries, anesthesia, pain management, and follow-up care is more than I can afford right now.

These funds will truly save Julio and Cookie’s lives. Guinea pig teeth grow constantly, so time is of the essence—without surgery, their teeth will keep overgrowing, and they will not survive.
