Please help support Julia in her time of need!

Hello,

My name is Chelsea. I started this fundraiser to raise money for my dear friend, Julia Cain Kenitzer. She found out earlier this year she has terminal cancer as well as several brain tumors (more on her situation in her own words below). She and her son Riley have been family friends for many years, ever since they moved to Affton, MO and became neighbors with my Grandpa Candy. Julia was always a great friend and neighbor to my Grandpa Candy. She is currently neighbors with my brother Keath. She and her son Riley helped save my brother’s life when he got carjacked a few years ago. Julia truly holds a special place in mine and my family’s hearts.

A word from Julia about her situation:

”My name is Julia Kenitzer, and I was caught off guard by Stage 4 Metastatic terminal renal cancer around the 1st of March. One day I was at work; days later, I was at the hospital for the first of three times. I am currently receiving immunotherapy treatments to try and slow the progression and give me time with my family. I've also had spot radiation treatments for brain tumors. My insurance ran out on June 30th, and I've applied for Medicaid and Social Security, but both are a long time coming. I've received some amazing and generous help from family, friends, and Mercy Hospital here in St. Louis, but things are growing ever more complicated, and our financial situation (my son lives with me and is caring for me) is in pretty dire straits. We no longer have assistance paying bills - funding has run out - or getting help for basic necessities and the medical bills & prescriptions I am responsible for. This is the last situation I would ever want to be in or put him through. I did not plan well, obviously, and it's asking a lot of my friends or anyone that might be out there that's listening. We could really use a little help, and we appreciate anything you can do. Love to all, thank you for your time.

A little bit about the type of person Julia is: To describe Julia is simple. She is the type of person who is hard to come by nowadays. She is genuinely a great person down to her core. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She is extremely generous and kind to everyone around her. She is truly an amazing person who is always there for people when they need a friend or a helping hand.

How funds will be used & How you can help:

All the money raised here will be given to Julia to help with medical costs (prescription costs, etc.), gas for appointments, mortgage, and utilities, as well as necessities, and any other expenses that may arise as a result of this horrible situation.

While we unfortunately can’t change Julia’s ultimate diagnosis, or take away her physical pain, emotional trauma, we can come together to help lessen the financial burden she will face as a result of this awful situation. I am now asking the community to please be there and step up to help Julia in her time of need.
