Our dear friend and brother, Dr. John Joseph Bassey, a dedicated son, sibling, and friend, was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the gingiva in July 2022. He has been receiving treatment at Asi Ukpo Hospital, Calabar, but the mounting medical bills and cost of medications have become overwhelming for his family.

Doctors have recommended chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and facial reconstruction, with an estimated cost of $30,000. Due to his condition, Dr. John is unable to work, and his family’s resources have been completely exhausted.

This fundraising effort is being organized by the St. Mary’s Senior Science College Old Students Association, in support of our beloved alumnus. We are appealing to kind-hearted individuals for assistance during this critical time. No amount is too small, and every contribution will go directly toward hospital bills, treatments, medications, and essential care. Regular updates will be provided to ensure transparency.
