This is our beloved cat Joey, he's 3 years old. Named after the lovable, goofy character from Friends. It wasn't by coincidence that we gave him that name. He's such a clumsy, funny, and lovable cat. Everyone he meets gets a wet kiss and a cuddle; he's just the purest, most joyful cat you might ever meet.
Sadly Joey was recently diagnosed with a fatal and fast-acting disease called FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Our little guy started losing weight rapidly and became increasingly lethargic. He quickly brought to the vet and we discovered his lymph nodes were swollen, and a large mass had grown in his intestine. The disease was previously known to be fatal and untreatable. Fortunately, we caught wind of a new drug proven very effective in curing FIP called "GS-441524". The bad news is it isn't cheap... ~$5000CAD
The Treatment:
- 84 days of injections; if he relapses, the treatment is repeated for another 84 days.
- Niels C. Pedersen, now professor emeritus at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, showed incredible results using GS-441524 to successfully cure naturally occurring FIP in 25 out of 31 cats in a field trial—“an unheard-of recovery rate.”

We're racing against time now to help Joey cling to life. We've started his treatment, but it will cost me everything I have and maybe more. I'm trying so hard to make enough money to afford this, but I have Crohn's Disease, and my physical health has taken a toll lately, and even though I'm still trying my hardest, I haven't been able to work enough to afford this treatment.

Should we receive more than the intended fundraising goal, I wanted to ensure we pass on the love and support when someone needs it the most. The extra money will be split in half, and each half donated to the following:

- The Ottawa Kitten Rescue
