Hello. My name is Jason Ray, though many of you know me as J Ray. I have been living in my grandmother's old home for 17 years now, which I just learned last week will go to auction and I will loose if the back taxes, totalling $6,000 including fees, are not paid by August 2nd.

Times are tough for everyone it seems. My own troubles started in early 2019 when I learned my mother had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which took her life in September later that year. The following day, my father was hospitalized and later released to out patient hospice care.

2020 would change everyone's life in at least some way. For me it was to be more loss. Covid hit the U.S. and the business I worked for closed down that spring. Then in May, my father would pass away, followed with the loss of my dog and closest companion Pasquale in September.

The following couple of years I would fight the greatest personal depression I've ever experienced, and struggle just to survive. The occasional odd jobs I managed to secure were just enough to keep the bills paid, and food in my belly. During this time I found myself unable to pay the land taxes, which have accumulated to an amount I just do not have the resources to pay on my own within the incredibly limited amount of time I have before the deadline. 

So here I am now, humbled and asking for your help as my last resort. Though I have recently found some part time work, it is not yet enough to fix my broken down car, or well, much less find another place to live. Things were just finally starting to look up again, and hopefully with the help of yourself and other kindhearted souls, they will continue to do so. 

All proceeds from your donations will be spent on the back taxes, with all excess going towards the cost of probate which is holding me back from getting the land in my name and getting it homesteaded, which will drastically reduce the cost of land tax in the future. 

I want to thank you for taking the time out of your undoubtedly busy life to listen to my story and plea for help. Please share this with others so it might reach more people, so at the very least they will be reminded that they are not alone in their struggles and it's ok to reach out to others for help.
