Jambo, a border collie, has fallen ill just one month before his first birthday. We took him to the local vet, emergency room, and finally a neurologist who diagnosed Jambo with autoimmune meningitis and needs to undergo chemotherapy. Jambo is my sons dog who is a Marine veteran, and they both can use all the help possible. The word jambo means hello in Swahili . My son named him Jambo because while deployed in Iraq, the Ugandan security force would always greet the Marines with a loud and cheerful Jambo! A memory that makes him smile from an otherwise difficult time.
