Izzy is the sweetest and most energetic dog I’ve ever known. She loves nothing more than getting hugs, kisses, and all the attention she can get. A close second is going for long runs until she can’t anymore—she was truly born to run through the grass and feel the wind in her fur. She’s not just a pet; she’s family, and she brings so much joy and love into our lives every single day.
On Thursday evening, our lives changed in an instant. Izzy got out of our apartment while I was at the gym and ran across a busy street, where she was hit by a car. I found her close to home, standing in the grass with her back leg held up, clearly in pain. We rushed her to the vet and learned she had a broken femur and internal bleeding in three out of four quadrants. She stayed the night at the vet, and while we hoped the bleeding was under control, it worsened overnight. Izzy needed two more nights in the hospital, where she’s still receiving treatment, all in hopes of making her surgery appointment on Monday to save her leg.
The costs have added up quickly, and while I’ve done everything I can so far, I need help to give Izzy the best chance at recovery. The funds raised will go directly toward her emergency care and, most importantly, the surgery she needs to keep her leg. Any support—whether it’s a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or just sending good thoughts—means the world to us. Izzy deserves the chance to heal, to run again, and to keep spreading the love she gives so freely every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
She’s currently at Route 66 veterinary in Albuquerque, New Mexico. And if you don’t feel comfortable donating through here my cashapp is $jlope1024
