On our way out of Lander, my son and I noticed a calico cat lying on Highway 789, just past the Life Resource Center. As we drove by, we saw she was still alive, so I pulled over, carefully picked her up, and rushed her to the nearest vet that was not closed for the holidays....Stock Doc Veterinary Clinic. She was wearing a pink collar and, despite her injuries, she lifted her head when I approached. The vet confirmed she is spayed and has an old injury that may have been repaired by her owner. She is clearly well cared for and has such a friendly demeanor, so I know she must belong to someone. If this is your kitty, she is currently safe at Stock Doc. Please share this to help find her family.

The team at Stock Doc has been giving us updates. The good news is she made it through the night and is eating a little, but she still needs treatments. Unfortunately, per clinic guidelines, they cannot start intensive care until funds are available. Right now, she is not receiving the specialized fluids she needs to reduce swelling in her brain. The sooner we can raise the funds, the sooner she can get the care she desperately needs. I have already contributed and plan to give more as soon as I can, but with the holidays, it’s a tough time for everyone. Still, this sweet girl needs help, and every bit counts.

If you can donate or share this with animal lovers—locally or nationwide—it would mean the world. Every donation, no matter the size, truly helps. Thank you for your kindness, patience (especially if you saw my not-so-graceful driving to the vet!), and support for this little fighter.

Updates 12/23/25:
The Stock Doc has shared that while "Christmas kitty" is not entirely out of the woods - her outlook is optimistic. She is acting like a cat and eating bits here and there. Because of the donations that have come in so far, they were able to begin treatments for her head trauma. The goal is to help her overcome and heal from the head trauma (first wave of treatments). Before beginning the second wave of treatments. They want to see how she pulls through with the head injury.
The vet bill will continue to grow each day, so if you’re able and willing, please keep the donations coming
If you’d rather donate directly to the clinic, you can ask Stock Doc to add it to her accumulating balance.

Updates 12/24/25:
She is still perkier today, and eating and using the litter box. She is purring and rubbing against us most of the time right now. Looking a little better every day. Dr. A
