Ours Sweet baby Indy crossed over to the rainbow bridge this morning.. our hearts are absolutely shattered. She had a whole life ahead of her.. she just couldn’t fight anymore. I held our baby girl as she took her last breath.
we have a balance of $1,928 left to pay at the ER.

Saturday morning update…
They did an ultrasound and saw nothing so they did another x ray to compare the images from Monday.. Indy’s stomach is FIVE times the normal size and also FIVE times the size it was on Monday. They tried to stick an NG tube to drain the fluids however the fluids are TOO thick and will not come out.
They also did another blood test and the levels are better than before EXCEPT her potassium they are higher than they were before. She cannot go into surgery until they get them in the normal range. They are providing her supplements through her IV to do this.
Indy is going to require surgery tonight. please keep praying and sharing.
5/22 update:
Indy girl is home.
While I had hoped she’d be 100% her self. That isn’t what’s happening. I wish this could just all be over.
Upon picking her up from the vet her stomach was very large. The vet kept asking if she was pregnant. I told them no it wasn’t/isn’t possible. But they said she was full of poop. No one felt comfortable of give her an enema due to the dehydration.
We left I came home. She walked around the entire house smelling every inch. She then laid down on a pillow. I could tell she was not comfortable with how large her stomach is.
I called the ER vet and asked them what can we do from here. They keep telling me I need to try and get her to eat. Well… if you’re full specifically full of poop you’re not going to want to eat.
She told me she was going to call the Dr that seen her Monday night.
I got a call around 9:30 last night asking us to bring her BACK to the vet and they were going to administer an enema and she’s coming in with an IV to prevent her being dehydrated again.
She immediately went to the bathroom. She is still very swollen and her tummy is hard today . She again is just wanting to lay in her bed. But this morning she did walk around the whole yard for a while. This isn’t my girl. She looks at me with the saddest eyes and I wish I could fix it. I feel lost and can only hope I have done everything in my power to help her.
We are giving the sub Q fluids once a day. MiraLAX every 12 hours with a little bit of apple juice and offering baby food and pumpkin puree.
I don’t know what to expect from here. But I do know I will keep doing everything I can to help her and make her comfortable.
My office has became her safe quiet space for her to rest.
This is our Indy girl.

the ER vet closed at 7 am. We had to pick her up at 6:30 am and transport her to Dr Deaton in cedar bluff for further treatment.
she was a little pirky this morning but we are not out of the woods. She has been admitted and is back on fluids. We are currently waiting for the Dr to call for the next steps and treatment course. Where she is now she will stay until she is safe to come home. Please keep praying!!!
5/19/25 update.
Indy ended up having a 2 minute seizure around 7:30 PM. We had to rush her to the ER for immediate
care. She was admitted over night for fluids. Her blood came back terrible. Her liver is inflamed and we are focusing on saving her.
on Wednesday May 14th she started throwing up but she was still acting normal same thing happened on Thursday. On Friday May 16th, it all took a turn for a worse… she stopped eating. She refused to move and puked everywhere. At around 2 pm I opened the baby gate to the back of the house (her normal self would take off running to get to the back of the house). She didn’t move… I knew something wasn’t right. I called the vet and we rushed her there as an emergency. She was severely dehydrated. She was admitted for fluids. They took her blood but nothing came back that would be a real cause for concern. Some levels were elevated or a little low but they ruled it due to her being dehydrated. They told us we could come pick her up Saturday after 10 am. We got there around 10:30. She was happy to see us but just wanted me to hold her. They told us we could take her home. We have been home for over 24 hours and we are back to square one. She is drinking here and there but she has not eaten. We have called the vet and we are giving her syringes of Pedialyte every few hours. she does not want us to hold her she just wants to lay in her bed. We want to fight to get an x ray and figure out what’s wrong with our girl but with a baby on the way and bills we do not have the means to do all of us this alone.
we NEEZ your help. The vet could not see her today because he is out of town. We paid $580 just on Saturday. We are not sure what else we will be looking at price wise. We hate asking for help but we do not have anything else we can do. This is my soul dog. She is my heart and I am terrified if I don’t fight I’m going to wake up to her being gone. She is 14 month old and is a mini dachshund. Please even if it is just a $1.00. Every cent counts to help save our girl. She is a fighter. She is breaking our hearts just laying in the dog bed not moving. Please please help us.
