Hi, my name is Elisabete and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for someone incredibly special—my dog India.

India is not a rescue, but she has rescued me in every way that matters. She has been by my side for years, my shadow, my comfort, my reason to smile on the hardest days. Now she needs help, and I can’t do it alone.

Recently, India was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of cancer that has started to affect her eyes. She’s currently being treated for uveitis (inflammation in her eyes), and though the medication is helping, time is critical. Thankfully, she’s still happy, eating well, enjoying her walks, and showing no signs of pain—only her eyes are showing signs of illness right now. This gives us hope that we still have a window to act.

Her liver values had previously spiked, but after intense treatment, they are back to normal. This shows she is strong and still fighting—but we need to continue the care. The veterinary bills have already gone beyond £5,000, and I’ve reached the limit of my insurance cover. We are now at a crossroads where the next steps—including further testing, ongoing medications, and possibly chemotherapy—depend on what I can raise.

I’m working hard and doing everything I can, but this is bigger than me. If you’ve ever loved a dog like family, you’ll understand how helpless it feels to watch them suffer while worrying about how to afford their care.
