Houston has been my everything since the day I met him. When I first saw him as a puppy, he was the first one out of the litter to run up and jump into my arms. In that moment, I knew he was meant to be my best friend. He’s been by my side through all of life’s ups and downs, and I can’t imagine my days without him.

Recently, Houston started throwing up and his belly suddenly tripled in size. I rushed him to the vet, terrified for his life. The diagnosis was devastating: his stomach had twisted, and without emergency surgery, I would have to say goodbye to him. The surgery is his only chance to survive and come home where he belongs.

As a college student, I’m doing my best to make ends meet, but the cost of this life-saving surgery is more than I can handle alone.
