Help Save Honey from Cancer

Donation protected

Our cat, Honey, has been diagnosed with plasma cell cancer. She is only 8 years old.

Honey has experienced exceptional care her entire life. We give her the best care we can afford. She is so dearly loved and fawned over by anyone who meets her. She is the light of our lives.

Despite this, she has been diagnosed with brutal cancer that had attached to her brain stem and ribs. This was devastating news for us, and we believed we would have to say goodbye. Her condition had deteriorated to such a degree that she could not move around, stopped purring, and was barely able to eat. She wouldn’t even sit on our laps anymore, and that’s the only place she ever wanted to be. She lost a lot of weight, and we spent a week in a depressed, fugue state trying to come to terms with the decision we had to make.
We picked her up from the hospital after her diagnosis and started Prednisolone right away to keep her comfortable while we weighed our options. It seemed like a miracle—she started to look at us, walk around, talk to us, and even do some light jumping (she only eats her food on the dining table).
We were told by the doctor that we could start chemo as well as radiation. She has responded very well to chemo and is starting radiation soon.
We will do anything to save Honey, no matter the cost. Including canceling our wedding and selling a car. Radiation and follow-up treatment exams are expensive. She has to go under anesthesia each round, either 5 or 10 times. Even with pet insurance, we’re looking at several thousands of dollars in medical bills. The doctor quoted us at $18,000 on the high end. Again, we have pet insurance, and that’s the high end of the estimate, so hopefully, it won’t be that much. We have to pay upfront a lower amount of the estimate, around $10,000, so it is still pretty expensive. We’ve paid multiple thousands of dollars already and are close to saving Honey (the doctors believe she’ll respond well to the rest of her treatment). We are just asking those who are interested in giving Honey the best chance of survival to help us with these last couple of bucks to get across the finish line. Any amount helps. My fiancé, Honey, and I are extremely grateful for anyone who has taken the time to read our story, regardless of contribution. Thank you, and remember to give your furry friend a big hug and a smooch every time you can.
