These beautiful German Shepherds are Reuben and Sylvia.

They live with a third Shepherd (Jude), a Springer Spaniel (Ivan) and two kitties (Savi & Palidin), with Jackie Masters.

Each morning the dogs jump into the car and go to work with Jackie at her boarding kennel. They enjoy being kennel hosts and playing with the dogs who come to stay while their families travel. Right now, the dogs and Jackie are very worried about their future.

Just a bit of background. For the past ten years, Jackie has been the industrious owner of the Kennel Club, which is located in the northwoods near Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She has spent this time working tirelessly, with passion and dedication, caring for the dogs and cats whose owners trust her to watch them while they’re away. This has earned her and the kennel a strong reputation as a place people feel comfortable leaving their animals. As more people brought their dogs to board, Reuben, Sylvia, Jude and Ivan were delighted.  When she added doggie daycare, they were beside themselves with joy...more friends and playmates.

A short time ago, Jackie was diagnosed with cancer. She has, thankfully, survived the surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation that come with cancer but they have left her with extensive medical bills. On top of that, Sylvia, one of the Shepherds was diagnosed with a rare medical condition. The vets at UW Madison have been able to bring it under control but this has been an ongoing, expensive process.

When business was busy, Jackie was able to manage the cost of living, her medical expenses and Sylvia’s veterinary expenses. She also invested in improvements at the kennel for the animals who came there.

Lately, however, the picture has not been as rosy. Due to COVID-19, her business had to close.  When she could reopen, people had stopped traveling. As this has continued through the summer, Jackie has tried to stay ahead of her bills. However, with little to no income, she has had to drain her savings. She has applied for unemployment and small business loans but funds have been slow in coming. At this point, Jackie and her dogs and cats could lose their home and the kennel...as early as the fall!
Now you understand why they have all been worried about their future.

Your contribution to the GoFundMe for Jackie will help her to keep her home as well as the Kennel Club.  She believes once people begin to travel more and more people board their pets, she will be able to make it. Jackie was very reluctant to have her friends write this but due to the severity of the situation right now, she finally said yes.

We are really hoping that we can help Jackie with this GoFundMe. We all want to support someone who loves pets as much as we do. She has been here to help us by providing a safe place for our animals to stay and taking such good care of them. We don’t want to lose her and we don’t want her to lose all she has worked to build the past 10 years.

Please donate what you can for the GoFundMe for Jackie and her dogs and kitties!
