Help Save Hella Hot Aurora Yoga & Pilates!
My eyes are tearing as I deliver this news. Hello, name is Carol Edwards, I am the owner of Hella Hot Aurora and today I come to you to ask for your help.
Covid is killing our vibe!
We re-opened over three months ago and although I am extremely happy as we haven’t had any incident of virus exposure, our hard work of keeping our space clean and healthy is proactive!
However, I’m sad to say, our hot room isn’t the same. Simply put, I was expecting a greater return of clients by now.
Unfortunately, our numbers are down so much that the current financial situation for the studio (and for so many others out there) is quite grim; our rent is backlogged and it’s possible I may not renew our lease at the end of this year if things don’t improve soon. I simply cannot afford to run my business in today’s conditions.
Although I’ve applied for several local and state government grants, not all of which I’ve been eligible for; I’ve been awarded a small amount (received back in June which I’m extremely grateful for as it helped us some) however, that grant award, didn’t even cover a month’s worth of rent expense. As I’m doing my best to stay positive, I also to need to plan for the possible devastating outcome.
A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE...
I recall our grand opening like it was yesterday- full of excitement, passion and ready to bring Hot Yoga to a new community; that was back on September 28, 2013! We offered a full schedule of Bikram Yoga 90-minute hot yoga classes only. My mission back then was simple, “To share Bikram Yoga with as many people as possible- anyone who may need therapeutic healing physically or emotionally.”
Over the years we’ve grown, learned, evolved and yet continued to offer the Original Hot Yoga method, sticking with our passion of Bikram Yoga and seeing people’s lives transform right before our very eyes. Adding to our growth was the fun addition of Inferno Hot Pilates to our schedule. And to offer even more positive energy into our space, we offered workshops, Senior Teacher visits, charity events, fundraisers, community donations, anniversary celebrations, fun fitness challenges, and brought a community together to feel welcome and supported.
Then the Coronavirus hit and everything changed. And I mean everything!
To be blunt, I am “all in” financially; it’s just me! No partners or investors, no loan sharks, no deep pockets, and no Sugar Daddy either.
And today, with Coronavirus being the driving force of this dire situation, I turn to you, the community, the awesome Yogis and Pilates people... to help save Hella Hot Aurora.
The HOT ROOM... a place where you sought solitude, warmth, friendship, community, therapy, healing, escape, meditation, self-realization, spirituality, detox, positive energy, enlightenment, “you” time, self-care, rehab/injury care, bereavement time, goal crushing accomplishments, and so many other reasons why you visited Hella Hot Aurora.
Your kind and generous financial assistance through this GoFundMe campaign will help pay for our Teacher’s payroll, Rent, and other overhead expenses. And know any dollar amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
However, if you are unable to financially help, I completely understand. All I ask is that you please share, forward, email, text, post this message and be sure to include the GoFundMe link to your friends, family and co-workers and ask for their help. This hot room needs all the support!
Hella Hot Aurora Community- you continue to inspire me and my staff with every class we take and teach together.
And today, our mission is still the same (however slightly revised for today’s times), “We are committed to a community where students of every race experience the highest level of healing through our yoga and Pilates classes.”
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With much gratitude,
Owner & Director
