Hello everyone, I am Kiara. In 2025, I was searching for a pizza place but wanted something different than chain restaurants. I wanted authentic taste and was afraid I would have to leave Mobile to find it. After a Google Maps search and driving around, I found Heavenly Pies Pizzeria—a local spot with high ratings. On a sunny Saturday morning, I visited for the first time and was greeted with warmth and southern hospitality. The quotes on the wall and the welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home.
As a supporter of local restaurants, especially minority-owned ones, I believe in sowing seeds that help small businesses thrive. I started creating content for Heavenly Pies, teaming up with local influencers and posting on social media. My TikTok videos about the restaurant went viral, bringing attention to this hidden gem. Despite the buzz, business has been inconsistent. Recently, Darryl, the owner, shared heartbreaking news: Heavenly Pies would have to close its doors on June 27th. He and his partner have been funding the business from their own pockets, struggling to cover payroll, marketing, rent, and utilities. None of the money raised will go to me—it's all for the restaurant.
Mobile has seen too many local restaurants close, leaving empty shopping centers and lost community spaces. Darryl doesn't want to leave Mobile, but he feels unsupported. I'm asking our community to help keep a minority-owned business open. Your donation will help pay rent, keep the lights on, cover taxes, and support staff. Every bit of support matters. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Thank you for your kindness and support.
