My fur baby Hawkeye is only 7 years old, and right now, he is fighting for his life.
Less than 2 weeks ago, he was completely normal—happy, active, and full of life, walking 30 mins 2x a day, running and taking stairs with no breathing issues at all. Then suddenly, he started struggling to breathe. Within days, he stopped eating regular dog food and couldn’t rest.
I rushed him to the ER vet, where they found fluid in his lungs and a possible mass. They drained the fluid so he could breathe, but it is already likely to come back.
Here’s the hardest part: his bloodwork came back completely normal and the fluid from his lungs contained no cancer or metastasis. That means this might not be end-stage cancer—there is still a very real chance this could be something completely treatable, like Blastomycosis or a fungal infection (he drank muddy water at the dog park, while off leash, THE SAME DAY that he suddenly started panting heavily). But we won’t know without a CT scan.
⏳ Time matters right now.
Without answers and treatment, I could lose him in days to weeks.
Hawkeye already beat cancer once last year after having his left leg amputated. I spent everything I had to save him (it took 3 different vets and over $3,000 just to get an accurate diagnosis the first time, not including surgery and recovery, another $3-4k but he was given the all clear, no cancer June 2025)—and he came back strong, happy, and full of life again. I have videos to prove it.
Now I’m out of funds after spending $3,000 in the last 48 hours just to stabilize him.
I am asking for help to afford:
- CT scan: ~$1,600
- Possible surgery or treatment immediately after $5-6,000
Even small donations make a real difference:
- $10 helps cover medication and oxygen support
- $25 helps toward diagnostic testing
- $50+ directly helps us reach the CT scan faster AND makes surgery a real option financially
If 100 people gave just $16, we could get his CT scan.
Hawkeye is still here. He still looks at me, still barked at the UPS truck today, still wags his tail, still wants to be close, still has life in him (and homemade chicken breast daily .) Please help me give him a chance—or at the very least, a peaceful and comfortable ending where he isn’t struggling to breathe .
If you can’t donate, sharing this could save his life.
Thank you for caring about my best friend. ❤️
