Hatem Lost His Parents and Now He's Burning Alone

Donation protected
My name is Christine and I live in the US. I'm starting this campaign at the request of the Awad family. Hatem Awad and his grandson son (Hatem) who are currently living in Gaza are in desperate need of support.

"My name is Hatem. I'm the grandfather of a 3-year-old boy, also named Hatem, who miraculously survived an airstrike that killed my son, his wife, and destroyed are home in Gaza.

I pulled my grandson from the rubble. His parents were gone. His tiny body was on fire. I'm his only family left -- and I'm begging for your help.

He keeps asking, "where's mama?" I hold his burned hands and cry. I don't have answers - only hope that someone, somewhere, will help."

Little Hatem is now the only one left from his family. His condition is critical. He has suffered third-degree burns over more than 50% of his body. He currently has internal bleeding in his stomach, severe infections that are worsening, and no way to treat him in Gaza. The only functioning hospital in South Gaza is overwhelmed and medicine to treat Hatem is gone.

Hatem's only chance at survival is to be transferred abroad for emergency medical treatment. Hatem's grandfather does not have the means to save him on his own.

Hatem is trying to raise $70,000 to cover the cost of medical evacuation from Gaza. It will cover the cost of burn surgeries and specialized care; recovery and rehabilitation and travel and housing for Hatem.

The family has videos, photos, and medical documents for anyone who wants to verify his story.

There are many posts on social media with updates on Hatem's condition.

Hatem's message to everyone who donates: "From the bottom of my heart - thank you. You are not just giving money, but are giving my grandson a chance to live, to heal, and maybe one day, to smile again. In a world that took everything from him, you are giving something back. Your kindness is a light in our darkest hour."

Please share Hatem's story. Pray for this beautiful family.
