Hi. My name is Rachel, although many of you may know be my artist name, Lamb Rabbit.
Early on in the pandemic I decided to start fostering cats from a local Queens rescue. This plan quickly failed, as I immediately fell in love with and adopted the first ones I let into my life: these two all black, long haired brothers, Haru and Ryu.
The isolation of the pandemic compiled with personal and medical crises for me were trying nearly beyond words, so I’m not exaggerating when I say that Haru and Ryu, with their incredibly sweet temperaments, goofball antics, and endless displays of love and affection, truly saved me.
Last month, Haru became life-threateningly ill and required immediate medical attention. An extensive stay at the vet, medication, and surgery caused bills to mount to the tune of $5000.
Unfortunately at present, I can’t cover this amount all on my own. The rescue organization that I adopted Haru and Ryu from, Give Me Shelter Project, has been amazingly supportive, but they also have their hands full and funds spread thin. This is why I am here, reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who may be able to help. Anything would be greatly appreciated and would mean the absolute world to me. Thank you so much for helping me save one of my two best friends.
