Hanzo is currently being hospitalized for a yet unknown issue causing his liver to shut down. He will be receiving an abdominal ultrasound either today or tomorrow (depending on doctor availability), at which point we should know more about how treatable this is. Best case scenario still involves aggressive intervention including continued hospitalization, feeding tube, etc. - we would obviously much rather do this and save his life because he is only 8 years old and otherwise healthy, but either way we're going to be taking a huge hit financially.
As of right now (pre-ultrasound), his initial diagnostics + a down payment for hospitalization at the emergency clinic already has us $2500 in the hole. This might not have been such a problem normally but unfortunately we just spent around that much on one of our other cats, Lady (7), after discovering she was diabetic and hyperthyroid. She's much better and doing well on her medications, but when Hanzo got sick immediately after we knew we were in deep trouble.
I really don't know how much to ask for here. When I have a better idea I will update the amount. Obviously if it turns out that what he's dealing with is not treatable after all the amount will go down - right now we're still waiting. We were told to expect to pay at least another $2k tomorrow if we're able to pick him up.
I've never done this before and I was hoping I never WOULD have to do this, but this is just horrible timing and I truly do believe Hanzo can get through this if we can just pay his way through it. He should be able to live a life twice this long. I don't want to give up on him.
Thank you so much for reading and if you're able to donate, we will be incredibly grateful.
