Help Guinness ‍

Hi everyone,

I’m honestly not someone who ever thought I’d make a post like this, but I really need help right now.

A few days ago, I noticed something was really off with Guinness. He started hiding, wasn’t eating at all (which is very unlike him), and was actively wretching. I knew something was wrong, so I took him to the vet—and things escalated really quickly from there.

He’s now been in the ICU for 2 days.

The good news is that he’s currently stable and comfortable, but he still isn’t eating on his own, which is a big concern. The vets believe he has cholangiohepatitis, a serious liver condition, and they’ve started him on

antibiotics.

Because he hasn’t been eating, he’s at risk of developing hepatic lipidosis, which can be very dangerous for cats. To help prevent that, they’re placing a feeding tube so he can get the nutrition he needs while he fights this. It’s scary, and there are some risks with sedation, but it’s the best option for him right now.

He’s also on IV fluids, anti-nausea meds, appetite stimulants, and other supportive care. He’s being monitored constantly, and I’m so grateful he’s in good hands.

Even once he’s stable enough to leave the ICU, he’ll still need to stay in the hospital for additional care for several more days.

The cost has already reached around $10,000, and it’s continuing to go up. I hate asking for help, but I can’t do this alone. If you’re able to donate or even just share this, it would mean so much to me and to Guin.

He’s truly my little guy—he’s been my best cuddle buddy and friend for the last 5 years and I need him to get better.
