Help Save Goguma: A Beloved Companion in Need
Donation protected
Hello, friends and fellow animal lovers,
My name is Sookie, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart for my beloved dog, Goguma (his name means sweet potato in Korean). He’s not just a pet; he’s my best friend, my confidant, and a constant source of joy. I adopted Goguma from a local shelter when he was just 8 weeks old, and since then, he has been by my side through every twist and turn of my adult life. At 11.5 years old, he has brought me comfort, laughter, and companionship, always eager to cuddle and offer unconditional love.
Recently, our lives took a distressing turn. Goguma stopped eating and drinking, becoming lethargic and unwell. A trip to urgent care revealed two masses on his spleen and symptoms resembling pneumonia. The uncertainty is devastating, as we don’t yet know if the masses are cancerous or if they have spread to his lungs. This weekend, he will undergo further testing to determine the next steps in his care.
The medical costs have been overwhelming. So far, I’ve incurred $11,500 in vet bills, and I’ve contributed a significant portion of my life savings to his care. I anticipate that after this weekend's tests, the total will reach between $18,000 and $23,000. This financial burden is significant, but I would do anything to ensure Goguma receives the treatment he needs to continue his journey with me.
If you can help in any way—whether it’s through a donation, sharing this campaign, or simply sending positive thoughts—I would be forever grateful. Goguma has touched so many lives with his sweet spirit, and I hope to give him the chance to continue being a part of mine.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness and support mean the world to us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sookie
