I’m asking for help for a very special boy named Gizmo, affectionately known as Gizzles, who is now facing a heartbreaking fight after being ran over by a vehicle yesterday on Carisbrooke Road. The driver continued to drive off and after watching Gizzles run to safety, I couldn’t just leave him there. I rushed to help him and got him to the vets, desperately hoping he would be okay.

Since then, I’ve managed to find his family, who are now facing an incredibly distressing situation.

Sadly, Gizmo has suffered a fractured pelvis and needs surgery, with the cost estimated at £5,500. On top of this, his family has already incurred £550 in vet costs, bringing the total financial burden to £6,050.

The family has been told that without the necessary surgery, euthanasia may be the only option. It’s heartbreaking to think that this much-loved boy could lose his chance to recover because of the enormous cost of treatment.

What makes this situation even more heartbreaking is that Gizmo’s family is already going through so much. The owners husband is battling brain cancer, and the family is facing the emotional and practical challenges that come with such a devastating illness. Now, on top of everything else, they’re faced with the possibility of losing their beloved cat because of the cost of emergency surgery.

Please help us give Gizmo a chance!

We’re hoping to raise £6,050 to help cover Gizmo’s surgery and the veterinary costs already incurred.

Gizmo is a beloved member of his family, and they are now facing the possibility of losing him despite there potentially being a treatment that could give him a chance to recover. No family should have to face such a heartbreaking decision while also struggling with the financial pressure of an unexpected veterinary emergency.

Every donation, no matter how small, could bring us closer to our goal. Even £2 or £5 can make a difference when lots of people come together.

If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family and any locals. You never know who might be able to help.

I’m so grateful that I was able to get Gizmo to the vets, and I’m desperately hoping that, with the kindness and generosity of others, we can help him get the treatment he needs and return home to his family.

Please help us fight for Gizzles. Every donation, every share and every bit of kindness means so much. Let’s come together and give this lovely boy a chance at recovery. Please help Thank you x
