I’m asking for help during one of the hardest moments of my life.
Ginger is my 9-year-old cat, my constant companion, and truly my child. She was gifted to me by a dear friend who has since passed away, which makes Ginger even more precious to me — she is a living connection to love, memory, and comfort during some of my most difficult chapters.
Right now, Ginger is fighting for her life.
She has been diagnosed with pyothorax, a rare and life-threatening condition in cats where a severe bacterial infection causes pus to build up in the chest cavity, making it incredibly hard to breathe. Without immediate and aggressive treatment, this condition is often fatal.
Ginger urgently needs to be hospitalized, placed on intensive IV antibiotics, and have chest tubes inserted to continuously drain the infection from her lungs. The veterinary team has been very clear: this is an emergency, and treatment cannot wait.
The estimated cost to save her life is at least $11,000, which covers hospitalization, procedures, imaging, medications, and round-the-clock care. At the moment, Ginger is home on two strong antibiotics, bravely fighting while we try to secure the funds needed to get her the lifesaving care she deserves.
I would do anything for her — and I am. Asking for help doesn’t come easily, but time is not on our side.
If you’re able to donate, share, or hold Ginger in your thoughts, it would mean the world to us. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving Ginger a chance to survive and come home.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight for her life.

Update: Thank you all so much for your generosity and support—it truly means everything to me. Because of you, I’ve been able to keep my sweet girl fighting. She has a vet appointment scheduled for Monday, and I’ll know more then about what else can be done for her. She did start throwing up this morning, which has been really scary, but I’m staying hopeful and doing everything I can. Thank you for being part of this journey with us and for helping me give her a chance.
