I am raising awareness and funds for Ghetto Light Youth (GLY) in Kenya. GLY is an organization near and dear to my heart that does amazing work with the youth of Kibera, currently the largest slum in Africa with over one million inhabitants.GLY is facing funding challenges this year and risks shutting down. They urgently require $2000 USD to cover the basic costs to remain operational into the new year.
Founded in 2003, GLY is a volunteer, community-based organization which aims to empower the youth of Kibera economically, spiritually, and socially through a broad range of activities such as educational support, income generating activities, sports, youth empowerment workshops and peer support and networking. GLY is composed of young people between the ages of 4-35 years. These are mostly orphans, victims of AIDS pandemic, and former street children and school leavers.
I have known GLY founders Abel and Milcah for over ten years. They are two of the most dedicated and inspiring individuals you will ever meet! Through their commitment and work, they have impacted hundreds of lives in a positive way.
We urgently need your support. If you are able, please consider donating. 100% of funds will go directly to GLY, impacting the lives of some of Kenya’s most vulnerable youth.
Thank you!
