Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart from the emergency vet right now. My sweet kitten Freyja, who isn’t even a year old yet (her birthday is August 23rd), has suddenly become critically ill. She developed acute blindness and a dangerously high fever of 105°F. The vet team is currently running tests, but her symptoms are unusual and worrying. Possible causes include FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a neurological issue, FIV or a severe infection—none of which come with easy or cheap answers.
We’re in the middle of diagnostics now, and the costs are rising quickly. As a public school teacher trying to make ends meet in Silicon Valley while managing existing debt, I’m terrified that our financial situation may force me into an impossible decision. I don’t want money to be the reason Freyja doesn’t get the chance to fight.
Freyja is more than just a pet… she’s my soul kitty, my little shadow, and the joy that makes hard days easier. She deserves a chance at life, at healing, and at seeing the world again.
Any amount you can give will go directly toward her emergency care, tests, treatments, and medications. If you can’t donate, sharing this with others would mean the world.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, supporting, and sending love to our girl.
