Frankie isn’t just one cat — he represents the heart of community cat caregiving.
When he came home with a shattered leg, Manhattan faced an impossible choice no caregiver should ever have to make: save one deeply loved cat, or continue feeding the 90+ street cats who depend on her every single day.
Emergency surgery in the U.S. was quoted at $3,500–$7,000. Amputation was the low-cost option.
A compassionate community member helped her get Frankie to a trusted vet team in Tijuana who can save his leg for $2,500 — but even that amount is overwhelming when you’re already stretching every dollar to keep entire colonies fed, safe, and alive.
Manhattan has dedicated years of her life to these cats. She’s out there every day, rain or shine, feeding, trapping, fixing, rescuing, comforting… often alone. She just became a 501(c)(3), but grants and food programs haven’t come through yet.
Frankie’s emergency shouldn’t break the mission.
It shouldn’t jeopardize the wellbeing of dozens of cats who have no one else.
Your support — through donations, shares, or simply spreading the word — keeps this work alive.
You’re not just helping Frankie. You’re helping an entire community of forgotten animals who deserve safety, dignity, and love.
Thank you for standing with Frankie and the cats of Barrio Logan.
