Hi! My name is Monica and I am raising money to help save my father’s small business. He recently quit his job after working for big companies his whole life to start a business of his own. He has spent around $35,000 on materials and other expenses to get everything started, and he has taken out no loans to do this. Everything came from his personal savings. While his brand new HydroJetter that he had recently purchased and spent a ton of money having lettered with his business name sat at his home on a trailer covered with a brown and grey tarp, somebody came in the middle of the night and stole it from him. The police are doing everything they can to help locate the trailer and the equipment, but this is unfortunately a loss that insurance will not cover.
My dad in recent years has wondered what kind of legacy he will leave behind for his children. As a single parent of 4, he has gone without for my entire life so that his kids could have everything that we wanted or needed. I have seen him say “I’m not hungry” as we all sat around our dinner table eating dinner, because there was not enough for everyone. During the harder years growing up, I have seen him give away bags of groceries in the grocery store parking lot that he had just bought because the folks there needed it more than we did, even though we didn’t have money for anything more. I have seen him in my adult life after moving to Nevada give away the shirt off his back and the shoes off his feet multiple times to people who did not have homes and were stuck outside in 110°+ heat. He is the kind of person who drives around in Las Vegas summers with frozen water bottles in a cooler to pass out to construction workers and homeless people he passes. He always orders two meals at the drive through so he can give one to whoever is waiting outside, and he does all of this without a word of boasting. He does it because he is kind and he believes it is the right thing to do. He does it to teach his kids how to treat others. I am the best possible version of myself that I can be, because he has never left my corner. He has never not been proud of me. He overcame a lot of uncertainty and has done a lot of learning to figure out all of the work it takes to open a small business, and he has done wonderfully.
My father began this journey so that he could leave a legacy behind for his 4 children. His hope is that with the help of his kids, this would develop into a strong and lucrative family owned business that could provide for us for generations to come. My dad has fought tooth and nail to make sure all of my dreams come true, and this is my trying to do the same for him.
If you are able to donate, I am so eternally grateful. If you are not, but you are able to share this GoFundMe, please do so. I will attach photos to my Facebook post of the HydroJetter and the Trailer that are missing in hopes that this is spread far and wide and that somebody who knows something about this theft may come forward.
If you have made it this far, thank you so much for reading. I truly believe that if you are good to others, good things will come back to you tenfold. I am putting this in the hands of God and praying that I am right. Sending love and light to all that this reaches.
