Help save football for teens in Greater Victoria!

Hi everyone!

We are at a critical point in launching our new youth football program, the South Island Outlaws, and right now the ability for these young athletes from communities all over South Vancouver Island to take the field depends on community support.

The countdown to getting started is on, and with that comes paying for our practice fields and purchasing the equipment needed for the season.

Unfortunately, support from the community and committed sponsorships has been much more limited than we had hoped.

Despite reaching out to over 100 local businesses, we have not yet secured the funding necessary to move forward with confidence.

We are asking for your help. Funding is crucial for these teams to succeed, and there are many current and future football players counting on this program.

There is tremendous interest and need for these teams, and it would be heartbreaking to have to cancel the program due to a lack of funding.

Registration fees will help, but they will not cover all of the costs. 100% of funds raised will go directly toward the following priorities:
• Finalizing field bookings
• Field insurance
• Purchasing practice equipment
• Ordering player gear: helmets, shoulder pads, jerseys, and pants

We currently have enough committed players for a full Bantam team and possibly enough for a Midget team as well. Several great coaches are eager to get started, and our board members have already volunteered countless hours behind the scenes to start this program.

Ask almost any adult who played football growing up, or any current coach, and they will tell you how the sport shaped their life. Football provides structure, mentorship, physical activity, and a positive outlet for teens during some of their most formative years. This program is incredibly important for the healthy physical and mental development of many young athletes in our community.

This program will be the ONLY community option here for these ages!

If we cannot secure the funding needed, students from schools without football programs will have no opportunity to play.

Currently, only three schools in our region offer football: Mt. Doug, Belmont, and Spectrum.

That means students from all other schools would be left without an option. Students who choose to pursue French immersion education, private education, all students in SD63 schools and more including:

Esquimalt
Victoria High School
Oak Bay
Royal Bay
EMCS (Sooke’s high school)
Reynolds
St. Andrews
St. Michaels
Pacific Christian School
GNS
Claremont
Stelly’s
Parkland
All homeschool programs
…and more.

These teens are counting on our community for the opportunity to play their preferred sport.

If this program matters to you, to your family, or to the future of youth sports in our community, please consider donating whatever you can.

If you can’t donate, you can still make a huge difference. Please take a moment to share. The person who sees it next might be the one who helps these teams get on the field.

All it takes is one share, one donation, and one community coming together to make sure these athletes get their chance to play.
Let’s make it happen.

Together we can make sure no young athlete loses their chance to play.

Thank you for supporting youth sports and helping us give these athletes the opportunity they deserve!
