Hi, my name is Maria and I am fundraising to help cover costs for this sweet girl, Flower. I saw a picture of Flower on Facebook in the shelter where she was red listed (set for euthanasia) simply because she was blind. She had been bred, and then dumped in a field to fend for herself. She was brought into the Riverside Department of Animal Services where she sat waiting for someone to claim her. No one came, and the shelter decided to euthanize her. Luckily someone posted her on Facebook and I decided to adopt her and save her life. My heart was overwhelmed with love when I saw her. I knew immediately I needed to save her. She is only 2 years old and deserved a chance at life. The shelter spayed her and she was released. I picked her up Friday night and noticed several hours later something was terribly wrong. She was in pain and very sick. I spent several hours at a vet's office and ER hospital with her only to find out that she had a botched spay job from the shelter. She had to be opened up and have exploratory surgery. What they found was improper spay protocol. She was bleeding internally, full of infection, blood and bacteria. She is currently fighting for her life at the vet's office. I am drowning in credit card debt now. I had no idea that this was going to happen.
