On March 22nd, I realised my life-long dream to open my own small bakery in London. The following day, that dream crumbled in front of me.
If you can help me to save it, I will repay you by making a meaningful difference to the amazing people who are putting their lives on the line to keep us safe.
My name is Giada and I have ploughed every penny that I scrimped and saved during my life into Flour & Flowers, the boutique bakery that I worked to the point of exhaustion to open.
I know that I am lucky. I have my health while others are dying prematurely from Covid19. It should be enough. But I know that if my bakery can survive, I can use my skills to do more and to be more at a time when being more might be the difference between life and death.
If you can find £5 to help me keep my bakery running, I will invest 80% of your donation in making and delivering free meals for our frontline health workers.
After lockdown, I started working harder. I launched a delivery service, baking alone in my shop and pressing my boyfriend into service as my delivery driver.
The response has been amazing. The trust people placed in me by placing their orders with me has moved me to tears. And every time I receive an order, it fills me with love for my fellow travellers in life.
£5 seems like such a small amount. But it might just be your £5 that keeps an exhausted nurse or doctor functioning or puts food on the table of some decent and hardworking people who are struggling to make ends meet.
And if you want to help me, but a donation is the wrong way for you to show your support, you can place an order on my website instead. I am happy to deliver anywhere in London.
Thank you!
