Help Save Fang: Emergency Surgery Needed
Donation protected
Hi everyone.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Kassy. For those of you who do know me, you know my dogs mean the world to my fiance and I.
This is our boy, Fang. Our boy is full of life, a typical energizer bunny, running and playing with his two sisters ready to take on the day's adventures.
Unfortunately, within the last 48 hours he has been doing nothing but vomiting, unable to keep down any food or water. My usually happy boy has become extremely lethargic and unlike himself, hiding in other rooms away from us and refusing to sleep at our sides in our warm, cozy bed. Because of this, he was taken to the emergency vet today and we received devastating news. His intestines are severely blocked by black masses which is what is causing the extreme vomiting. My boy has been in extreme pain unable to voice it for himself, and now we are left with yet another difficult challenge. The ER has quoted us a grand total of over $6,000. This includes fluid therapy, followed by surgery to help remove these huge masses from his intestines. This was something we weren't prepared for. We are currently pregnant, expecting our first baby boy in November who we so desperately want to meet Fang and grow up with.
We are not normally ones to ask for help, ever. And it truly kills me to have to do this and seek help, but we are out of options and really need it. We are please asking from the bottom of our hearts to help ease some financial burden on our family and help save our boy.
UPDATE 6/27/2025:
He underwent surgery last night 6/26/25. He is stable but not doing very well at all. He keeps regurgitating fluids and will not eat anything. They are trying another medication route followed by a stomach pump which he will need to stay at the ER for another 3-4 days. Additional $4,000 expenses were added on top of the $6,000+, totaling over $10,000.
UPDATE 7/14/2025:
This isn't an update I was hoping to make...Fang needs yet another surgery. Unfortunately, he has developed a severe hernia which needs immediate surgical intervention to correct. They are going to have to re-open the same wound he just took 2 weeks to heal from and we now are stuck at where we first started. Yet again, we were quoted another $5,000 charge and are sitting roughly around $16,000 for his total expenses. I am trying to have hope and see light at the end of this very narrow tunnel. My family is struggling so much emotionally and financially, we are just trying our best to keep our heads above water at this point. My sweet boy cannot catch a break and this is all shattering my heart having to sit here and watch him endure this all. I wish more than anything I could do more for him.
I appreciate the help we were given so far, but as you can see the cost has continued to increase astronomically. Any help we are continued to be offered is more than appreciated. Even if you cannot donate, if you could simply share this intense medical journey so it reaches more people I sincerely thank you.
