Our beloved Emile has been in a tragic accident. He was assisting with debris cleanup from Hurrican Irma when a tree limb fell out of nowhere and hit him squarely on the top of the head. It crushed his cervical spine and has paralyzed him from the neck down. He also has phrenetic nerve damage which is affecting his breathing. He was airlifted to Bayonet Trauma Center where he has undergone two surgeries already.
He is scared and in a great deal of pain. Along with prayer and hope, Emile needs intense physical therapy if he ever wants the hope to have mobility again. This therapy is very expensive and insurance is not an option.
Further, Kim (his loving wife) will need training to care for him. She will also need a home health aide as she has to keep her full time job. Thankfully, her supportive employer, Village Cadillac Toyota and the Dimmitt Corporation has allowed her to take the time she needs to deal with this trauma and figure out the next step in getting him treated. But eventually, equipment, vehicles, etc. will be necessary to accommodate Emile.
The family is truly devastated. Everyone that knows Emile knows that he is a wonderful, selfless man who helps anyone that needs it. Prior to the accident, he worked hard to run his hauling business, enjoyed spending time working in the yard and of course, helping others. He just recently teamed with Veteran National Property Services to donate a roof to a disabled veteran in need. And his favorite tradition at Thanksgiving is to buy out all the turkeys from his local grocery stores and bring them to Metropolitan Ministries. This is a man who loves Jesus, his family and friends, his wife Kim and his son Brian Alan with all of his heart. We hate to ask for help from our friends and family in this manner but we will stop at nothing to see him walk again. We really hope that you are able to help out so that we can continue to help save Emile.
Any and every little bit will be tremendously appreciated. We know that God is in control and we do have faith that Emile will overcome this. We are praying incessantly and ask that you please do the same, even if you cannot help monetarily.
