Help Save Elvis – Our Brave Little Boy ❤️

Story

Help Save Elvis – My Naughty, Brave Little Boy My name is Claire, and this is my best friend — Elvis, a cheeky, loving 2-year-old pug who lights up my life every single day. He’s not just a pet — he’s family. My shadow. My heartbeat in dog form. A few weeks ago, Elvis collapsed. He couldn’t walk, and he was holding his head in a strange way. We rushed him to emergency care, where they found something terrifying — a brain cyst causing pressure on his brainstem. While undergoing scans, they also found signs of meningoencephalitis, a rare and aggressive form of brain inflammation (MUO). We were told he might not survive the night. But he did. He underwent emergency brain surgery at Glasgow Small Animal Hospital (Bearsden Road), where a specialist neurology team drained the cyst to relieve pressure. He has since been diagnosed with suspected necrotizing meningoencephalitis (NME) — an incurable but manageable brain condition. Elvis is now on daily steroids, and will need ongoing neurological monitoring, repeat MRI scans, bloodwork, and possibly chemotherapy (cytarabine injections) to give him the best possible quality of life. We’re doing everything we can — but we’ve hit a wall financially. What We’ve Paid So Far: • Our pet insurance only covered £3,000 — which was used up almost immediately • Since then, we’ve paid £7,000 out-of-pocket for surgery, imaging, hospitalisation, and follow-up care • We’re reaching a point where we simply can’t do this alone What Ongoing Treatment Costs: • MRI scans = £1,000 per scan (he may need more to monitor his brain) • Cytarabine chemo injections = £500 per dose (potentially multiple sessions) • Plus: regular consults, bloodwork, medication, and emergency contingency This Is Real — Not a Scam: • Elvis is being treated at Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital, under a specialist neurology team • I’ve included images, updates, and will gladly provide vet letters or invoices to anyone who needs reassurance • I’m just a mum, trying everything I can to save my dog’s life — he’s only two years old If you’ve ever loved a dog like family, please help us keep Elvis fighting. Even £1 helps, and if you can’t donate, just sharing this story could help us reach someone who can. Thank you so much for reading. With love and hope, Claire & Elvis

Help Save Elvis – My Naughty, Brave Little Boy

My name is Claire, and this is my best friend — Elvis, a cheeky, loving 2-year-old pug who lights up my life every single day.

What We’ve Paid So Far:
• Our pet insurance only covered £3,000 — which was used up almost immediately
• Since then, we’ve paid £7,000 out-of-pocket for surgery, imaging, hospitalisation, and follow-up care
• We’re reaching a point where we simply can’t do this alone

What Ongoing Treatment Costs:
• MRI scans = £1,000 per scan (he may need more to monitor his brain)
• Cytarabine chemo injections = £500 per dose (potentially multiple sessions)
• Plus: regular consults, bloodwork, medication, and emergency contingency

This Is Real — Not a Scam:
• Elvis is being treated at Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital, under a specialist neurology team
• I’ve included images, updates, and will gladly provide vet letters or invoices to anyone who needs reassurance
• I’m just a mum, trying everything I can to save my dog’s life — he’s only two years old

If you’ve ever loved a dog like family, please help us keep Elvis fighting.
