Hi. My name is Keira Garvin and I am hoping to raise money for my mom, Rene’s, 1 year old rescue dog, Elmer. When Covid hit, Rene decided she would try rescuing foster dogs to do something positive in a dark time. Rene has fostered 25 dogs since then- including severely abused, neglected dogs, and many other dogs with complications. Upon fostering a non socialized farm dog and her 4 babies, Rene decided to adopt Elmer, a real cutie with the personality to match, and they became best buddies. With her kids moving away leaving her an empty nester this became her baby. What she didn’t know was that Elmer was born with severe Hip Dysplaysia. It was discovered at the age of one and it was evident he would need two new hip replacements. The doctor stated this was the worst case he had seen. His condition is also quickly worsening as he’s losing his ability to walk. She had no idea she was about to take on a dog that would eventually no longer be able to walk, with medical bills that could add up to over $20,000. She absolutely fell in love with this dog. We’re asking for help so she can continue to foster other dogs (she can’t now with a handicapped puppy) and she can help Elmer live a normal life- to be able to walk, run, jump and play. It will also rescue her from a financial hardship. We’re asking you to please share and if you have it in your heart to donate even a small amount, we would be so grateful!
