My father, Don, urgently needs your help. He is a kind-hearted, resilient 82-year-old, who's always smiling and helping others do the same. Even in hospital, hours after a heart attack, he was smiling.

We are seeking to raise €7,000 for a life-saving heart procedure that he desperately needs after being let down by his insurance.

The Medical Need:

Five months ago, Don suffered a heart attack. Although he has been on medication since, it hasn’t been effective and his health seems to be getting worse. His doctor recommended a stent procedure, but tragically, his insurance company denied coverage, claiming he omitted details on a questionnaire he was never even given. Despite paying premiums of €180 a month for almost four years, he now faces this critical moment without the insurance support he was promised.

To get the necessary treatment, we have found that Eastern Europe offers the most affordable option. We aim to raise €7,000 to help cover the treatment and associated travel costs. If we surpass this goal, we hope to consider treatment options closer to home, albeit more expensive.

Don's Story:

His life has been nothing short of extraordinary. Coming from humble beginnings, Don built a successful printing business in the 1980s, even providing private healthcare for all his employees—practically unheard of in the UK at that time. Despite his hard work, the digital revolution led to the business's downfall, and he lost everything. Now retired and living in Spain, he is not eligible for state-sponsored medical care, which is what led him to purchase private insurance in the first place.

Don is well-known and well-loved in his community. He is a great storyteller, always in good humour, and has a remarkable ability to make people feel valued. He always has time for others and is always ready to extend a hand to help those who need it. But this time, it's him that needs help.
