The Italian Spinone Club of GB Rehome and Rescue has been approached by an owner in a very difficult situation, asking for help to save their dogs from a potential destruction order.

This case falls outside our usual remit. The dogs were put on a Contingent Destruction Order on the 1st August 2025 after they had jumped at a man and knocked him over and he was injured when he fell. It is now being alleged that the owner has breached the terms, although it is not being said that the dogs have done anything wrong themselves. Fearing the worst, the owner reached out to us.

After seeking legal advice, we were informed that the owner could sign the dogs over to ISCGB Rehome which has been done. This allows us to place them into foster care while awaiting the court hearing, and importantly, gives us the opportunity to appeal the destruction order on behalf of the dogs.

The dogs are now safe in foster homes for the next few weeks while the court decides their fate — whether they will be destroyed or given a second chance at life in new homes.

Because this situation is outside our normal work, we are reaching out to the Spinone community and wider dog-loving community to help cover legal fees and the expense of caring for the dogs while the court makes its decision.

So far, ISCGB Rehome has spent £2,600 on legal fees and care, and costs are expected to rise as the case progresses.

We are setting up a GoFundMe with an initial target of £2600, which will be increased if additional costs arise.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help us continue this fight and potentially save their lives and secure them loving homes.
